BIO
Jess is a pediatric registered nurse by trade. She graduated from Middle Tennessee State University in 2010 with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree. Upon graduation she began her nursing career in Nashville. She worked with pediatric patients who were admitted to the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit. There she worked as a bedside nurse, charge nurse, and assistant manager.
In 2015, Jess moved to Haiti to work in the mission field as the medical liaison for an organization called myLIFEspeaks. There, she oversaw the daily activities of the medical clinic, developed education for the pregnant mothers and infant wellness programs, and worked to do preventative screenings throughout the local village.
After she returned to America in 2016, she returned to work as a bedside nurse, this time in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit. While there, she was a part of a team of nurses awarded a grant to complete a research project to improve patient care by limiting exposure to excess noise while in the recovery room.
Jess has been with Music City Doulas since 2020 working as a postpartum doula and newborn care specialist. She enjoys being able to incorporate her medical knowledge and love for education together to help families best care for their infant.
