Kara Beemer

she/her

Birth & Postpartum Doula

BIO

Ever since she can remember, Kara has been fascinated by birth and babies. She would ask new moms about their birth stories and how their newborns are doing from the ripe age of 6, and the curiosity never went away. When asked what she wanted to be when she grew up, Kara would always say, “anything where I get to hold babies all day.” After having jobs in daycares and as a nanny, Kara found her calling: doula work.

After graduating from the University of Missouri with a degree in Human Development, Kara trained as a Birth and Postpartum Doula in November of 2019, and as a Newborn Care Specialist in August of 2020. From there, she has worked with several families in the Nashville area, providing quality care and support overnight. She is knowledgeable about pregnancy and birth and serves as a resource for friends and acquaintances as they prepare to welcome their little ones. She believes that this time is crucial for parents to feel seen and heard, and longs to make their transition into life with their new baby as seamless as it can be.

Kara recently began a career as a newborn photographer within the area hospitals, and loves that she can visit with new parents and show off their precious babies. Aside from photography and doula work, she is an avid music lover, and concerts are her happy place. Her favorite band is The Head and the Heart, her favorite color is dusty rose, and she can’t wait to work with you!
