Best Night Nannies and Baby Nurses in Nashville

You heard you would be tired after you had your baby. But maybe the depth and intensity behind that word tired didn’t sink in. There’s nothing like the exhaustion that comes after giving birth and then caring for a newborn that doesn’t sleep on an adult schedule.

Naturally, we’re often asked if we have night nannies or baby nurses working through the agency. We fulfill both of these roles, and more.

At Music City Doulas, our professional postpartum doulas and newborn care specialists are experts in both newborn care and family care. So in addition to being up to date on all the latest recommendations for safe swaddling, sleep, pacifier use, feeding and bathing, our postpartum doulas also create meal plans and do meal prep, organize the nursery, run errands, do light housekeeping and chores, help with breastfeeding, maintain your desired schedule and parenting philosophy, help with older children, and attune to your needs without judgment or bias. Under our care, you are emotionally supported in addition to having physical help so that you can rest and recover. Our postpartum doulas are even trained to recognize the signs of postpartum mood disorders.

What’s the technical difference between all these titles?

A night nanny generally cares for children just at night. A baby nurse has complete care of a newborn or infant at night, though it should be noted that a caregiver should only call themselves a “baby nurse” if they are in fact a RN. Both of these roles maintain total care of the baby/ies during night hours and often do not go to the parents unless there is a problem. A newborn care specialist is a professional who has been trained and certified to provide expert knowledge and care for newborns, premature babies, and multiples. A postpartum doula is a professional trained to care for the whole family, often helping the birthing parent care for themselves as well as their baby. As postpartum doulas and newborn care specialists, we can take over complete care of your baby during the night hours so that you can sleep, and if you are breastfeeding we can take care of all the burping, swaddling, and soothing to sleep that happens in between so that you can get a full night’s rest. Our care and expertise extends into daytime hours in addition to overnight support, and is available for 24 hours for extended periods.

Yes! We can help, whether you are looking for a night nanny, baby nurse, postpartum doula, or newborn care specialist. Our mission is to provide you with the best overnight as well as daytime care in Nashville during the postpartum time. Call us if you are seeking support.
